As higher standards of democracy are required, so the global newspaper industry grows, as does the need for the highest possible standards in journalism, and this is the challenge that the CPU will continue to meet.

The CPU trains journalists, managers and editors in the print and sometimes the broadcast media.

Up to 20 regional seminars, consultancies and distance learning projects are organised every year in the same number of countries.

The projects cover such areas as newspaper management, health, good governance, greater opportunities for women, environment, conservation, skills transfer, press freedom, human rights, or sub-editing. Every subject area of journalism is covered in the CPU programme.

To read about the various training opportunities, select from 'An area of interest' above.

Only journalists working for CPU members can apply.

For a comprehensive list of training organisations view the Training section in Useful Links.
