Masi Losi, a young South African photographer with The Daily Dispatch in East London won The Canberra Times/CPU Young Photographer Prize this year.
His prize – a special one offered as part of the Commonwealth Photographic Awards - was a four-week trip to Australia on photographic attachments with The Canberra Times, The Northern Daily Leader in Tamworth, New South Wales and The Sydney Morning Herald.
He began his adventure on 8 November 2007 kicking off in Canberra spending a few days at The Canberra Times. He then flew to Tamworth, New South Wales to spend a few days at The Northern Leader Daily.

This was the first time I had seen the sunset from inside an aircraft. It was also one of my longest trips ever.
