It is commonly said that India lives in villages. It is also true to say that the life of villagers is full of difficulties, especially for women. Due to the lack of basic facilities, the women have to face many problems and obtaining drinking water is one of them. Even today, the women have to travel several kilometres in order to fetch drinking water. This problem is worsened in the summer season due to the water resources drying up. In these conditions, to have travelled so far is a big achievement for them.
