Schoolboys of different races play the traditional African game of Klei Lat or the throwing of clay clods at each other with a stick during the school holidays at Emmarentia Dam, Johannesburg, South Africa. This image reflects the success of the country's 12-year-old democracy which is beginning to achieve racial harmony. Considering the rule of the repressive and brutal apartheid regime this is quite an achievement.
