Statistics

Statistics can be a useful tool in monitoring a country's progress in media freedom terms.  Already available on this site is a table listing Commonwealth countries in world media freedom ranking.  It is intended to broaden this section of the site to include annual updates and graphs.  The Commonwealth information is culled from extensive research of the established world press freedom indices of CPJ, IPI, RSF and Freedom House.

The CPU Media Trust is pledged to uphold and defend the freedom, interests and welfare of the media in Commonwealth countries. It will actively promote the highest professional and ethical standards and will monitor and oppose any measures designed to affect the freedom of the press and of journalists in any member state of the Commonwealth.
