Caribbean

The myriad island states of the Commonwealth Caribbean have a diverse, vibrant and - in some cases - long-established media.  Newspapers are well established in many of the islands, with papers such as The Gleaner, in Jamaica or The Nation in Barbados, commanding a high level of inluence and respect.  Even the smallest Territory in the Caribbean has at least one paper.

As with many island nations, radio has long been an important and influential medium reporting on both national and international events.  Television, which came later, is now widely available both as terrestrial and satellite stations proliferate.

In a far flung area, the advent of the internet has opened new communications channels and almost all major media houses have a significant online presence.
