The organisation is headed by the President, a titular role, currently held by Oliver Clarke OJ JP, Chairman and Managing Director of the Gleaner Co, Jamaica and is managed by an Executive Committee, currently chaired by Vyvyan Harmsworth LVO, who support the London-based Secretariat. The Press Freedom & Human Rights Adviser is David Chipp, former Editor-in-Chief of the Press Association.

Semi-autonomous Sections are formed in countries where there is a sufficiently large industry and these operate under locally appointed Chairmen.
