There are many awards and competitions offered around the World.

The CPU offer two of its own which are detailed below and links are provided to all the others which we think may be of interest to journalists and writers. If we have missed any, please do let us know.

The Commonwealth Press Union's most prestigious prize for services to press freedom. This prestigious award - one of theoldest in this category - was created in memory of Lord Astor of Hever, for many years the President of the Commonwealth Press Union.

The winners of the 2004 Commonwealth Photographic Awards were announced on 1 September 2004 when an exhibition of their images was opened in London at The Commonwealth Club.
The next Photographic Awards will be announced in early 2006. To find out more and view previous winners' photographs, click here.

Two comprehensive lists of all the Awards, Internships and competitions offered by organisations and associations from around the world that are of interest to journalists and writers are also provided on this site.
